A community can be many different things. The WGA strives to build alliances within and between communities. The communities we embrace include transgender people, our network of volunteers and the urban areas our groups serve.
The WGA regularly schedules social events in the northwestern Washington area.
Suppoort groups are the traditional focus of the WGA, but more community-building emphasis is helpful. Support groups need to be well structured, both in how they are conducted as well as how they are scheduled. Social events, however, can be less rigidly structured and more flexibly scheduled. For these and other reasons, the WGA is provides other ways to bring folks in our community together.
The WGA recognizes the importance of social media. We will continue to develop our offerings.
The WGA Facebook Group is a "Closed" group, which means that anyone can find the group and see who's in it, but only members can see posts. As a closed group, any information you post will be protected from everyone but the group members. This group is moderated by WGA volunteers. You will need to request to join the group. All requests are reviewed by the group's administrators.
